Cambridgeshire Junior Squash League Final 2025/26

The final of the 2025/26 Cambridgeshire Junior Squash League took place at Hunts County Squash Club on Sunday, with 30 juniors from across the county battling it out in teams for a chance to take the title.

After a competitive season playing at different squash clubs around Cambridgeshire, the groups were decided and the top three teams (Gorillas, Tigers & Bears) faced off to be crowned champions, whilst the bottom three (Sharks, Wolves & Crocs) were playing to save themselves from “extinction”.

In the championship group, the Gorillas were on fine form and, with the help of a player of the match performance from Samuel Goodger, managed to come out clear winners to lift this season’s trophy.

There was very little to separate the bottom three in the play-offs and it was the Crocs who narrowly fell short, resulting in their extinction and relegation from the league next year!

The Cambridgeshire Junior Squash League is an initiative launched in 2024 to give the county’s young squash players a chance to play regular competitive matches and to help raise the level of junior squash in Cambridgeshire. It has been a great success in both these areas, with a noticeable improvement in the standard of the players over the season.

It was an amazing day and a fantastic way to conclude this season. Next season’s league will start in October and will aim to continue to develop junior squash in the area!
